Special events are one of the  ways Big Brothers Big Sisters funds its programs.  Below is a description of all the events taking place throughout the year.

February – Bowl for Kids’ Sake
This is a fundraiser that anyone can do!  Get four to five friends together and start a bowling team.  Each team is asked to commit to raising $500 on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters by asking family, friends, co-workers, etc. to donate to the team.  Bowl-a-thon days are scheduled at Professor Bowl West on Fridays and Saturdays and teams are invited to participate to celebrate the money raised by all the teams.

June – Big League Singles Auction Co-Sponsored by AY Magazine
This fun summer party is entertaining and an easy way to support a great cause.  Successful singles volunteer to create an outing and be auctioned off to the highest bidder.  A silent auction, DJ and dancing, along with food and drinks make this an event you do not want to miss.

September – Toast & Roast
This event takes place at the Peabody Hotel and includes a reception, dinner, live auction, silent auction, and program.  Each year a different honoree is selected by a committee and 4 of his/her closest friends Toast & Roast him/her during the evening.  Toast & Roast is the organizations largest fundraiser of the year.
