At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas we are striving to see that every child in Central Arkansas succeeds and thrives in life. We believe we can achieve that goal by providing quality mentors to at-risk children. During the month of January, which is National Mentoring Month and also the month of many New Year’s resolutions, we are challenging everyone to “Start Something.” Start volunteering. Start donating. Start mentoring. START SOMETHING.
START VOLUNTEERING: Volunteer to help at our fundraisers, or become a part of Big League, our volunteer auxillery group that plans monthly events for our Bigs and Littles to attend.
START MENTORING: Become a Big Brother or Big Sister! Today, in our community there are more than 100 children waiting to get a Big Brother or Big Sister. Donating a little bit of your time and knowledge can truly change the life a child for the better, forever. Learn more here, or contact our office at 501.374.6661.
START DONATING: Mentoring is a proven cost-effective investment: for every $1 invested in mentoring, there is a $3 return to society. Young people participating in quality mentoring programs are more likely to do better in school and have aspirations for college and career; they’re more equipped to make responsible decisions and model good behavior; and they’re more likely to be productive and engaged citizens – all key factors in building stronger communities. Learn more about how to donate here, or call our office at 501.374.6661.
We are EXCITED to announce that we are partnering with local boutiques to sell “Start Something” apparel. Each store has their own custom designed Start Something shirt for purchase, proceeds benefitting BBBSCA! Pick up yours today at:
