Newsletter 3rd Quarter 2011         Thank you to all our corporate and individual supporters of this year's Toast & Roast.  It was an honor to have Stephens, Inc. as our presenting sponsor and Windstream as our reception sponsor.  We appreciate Congressman Griffin and his ongoing support of Big Brothers Big Sisters.  This year's event raised $108,500 to continue the important work of placing mentors in the lives of hundreds of children in Central Arkansas.  Spooky Treats & a Chance to Win a $100 Gas Card in October  Clean out your closets and take your unwanted clothes to the Donation Center drive-thru located at 1125 S. Broadway in the month of October. Each donor will receive discount cards from the Sonic located on S. Broadway, candy, and entry into a drawing for a $100 gas card. Employee United Way Campaign Designations Now Crucial to 2012 Budget for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas As a United Way agency, we depend on its support to fund the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters.  The 2012 United Way campaign is under way now and making big changes that will affect Big Brothers Big Sisters.  Writing us in to receive your donations will be the primary way that we can receive United Way funding.  Last year $99,000 of our revenue came from United Way donors.    In the past, un-designated donations were disbursed to United Way agencies.  Now donors are encouraged to designate their donations to agencies of their choice.  We are asking you to please participate in the United Way Campaign this year and designate your pledge to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas.  All pledges made now will start in January 2012.  Your designation will ensure we can continue to receive the United Way dollars needed to support our programs.
