Each year, the Arkansas Business selects 40 leaders under the age of 40 who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement while also becoming leaders in their communities. To be chosen as a 40 Under 40 honoree requires business success, leadership skills, and a high level of community involvement. Those who are picked must go beyond even that high bar; however: They also must be involved in shaping the community in which they live and work, helping it chart a path for the future. We are proud to congratulate Raymond Omar Long for his selection to the 2022 class of 40 Under 40 honorees.
As CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas, Raymond provides the vision and leadership to drive the vision of the organization. In addition, Raymond pro-actively develops strong relationships with businesses and organizations that financially support and sustain BBBSCA’s future. He also leads programs and strategies to recruit, retain, engage, and mobilize mentors during his time leading the organization.
Raymond believes deeply in the community of Little Rock and its future. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated and was appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson to serve on the University of Arkansas Pulaski Tech College Board of Visitors and the State of Arkansas' Office of Juvenile Justice Prevention Advisory Board.
Raymond exemplifies what it means to be a well-rounded professional. His dedication to the youth in Central Arkansas through countless volunteer hours as a mentor and to local charities, his love of learning and improvement, and his successful professional career are just a few reasons for his selection. A friend and mentor to all, Raymond is an incredible colleague and leader.
The 40 Under 40 is an annual special section that honors 40 of the region’s younger movers and shakers, including people who have started or who are leading companies, people making waves in the non-profit sector and people who participate in public service and higher education.
